Greetings
Yankees!
Since 1985 the Hamilton Booster Club has worked to raise funds, provide volunteer support and act as vocal cheerleaders for this terrific school and each of its' learning communities. We are very excited to share this website with all of you, and hope it will prove to be useful! Please check back often as we will be updating the website weekly. The School Year Comes To A Close... Thank you to all of our supporters! With your help, this year has been a great success: we were able to fund a myriad of needs on campus, from the school website to important student enrichment opportunities. Next year promises to be both exciting and challenging. The school has to do more with a lot less. There is much discussion among stakeholders on how to make improvements at Hamilton that will benefit the students. These improvements will require funding and volunteer support. The HBC is committed to expanding our fundraising programs and developing a larger group of volunteer workers to help out at school. Remember that you are ALL needed, even if all you can spare is a few hours each month those hours will help our school staff prepare for a smoother start in September. Perhaps you can donate some reams of copy paper or bottled water. Whatever your schedule will allow we urge you to get involved. Parents often make the mistake of assuming that their presence is no longer needed when their child starts high school. This couldn’t be further from the truth. Get involved, be present, and continue to demonstrate to your child the importance of community service. If you are a “graduating” family, we congratulate you and hope that you will find ways to stay connected and supportive of the school. To our continuing families, you are needed now more than ever. To our new families-welcome to the Alexander Hamilton High School community! Go Yankees!!!! Chris Kenemuth President, HBC Parent Volunteer of the Year This year the HBC would like to recognize the contributions of an exemplary community volunteer: we are very excited to recognize Mrs. Eva Paul Miller. Eva has been an extremely active and dedicated member of both the PTSA and Booster Club, coordinated the Senior Awards, Grad-Nite, the Teacher Appreciation Banquet and volunteered at countless other school events as part of the Hamilton High community. We thank Eva for her years of service and dedication, and wish her well in her future endeavours!
Marion Vertun Community Service Scholarship Recipients Each year the HBC awards up to four (4) scholarships to graduating seniors who have volunteered extensively at Hamilton High and in the community during thier high school career. These $500.00 scholarships are awarded to students who have demonstrated their understanding of the importance of service to others. We applaud their many volunteer hours, and wish them every success in college: Stephanie CalderonGurbinder Ghotra Jonathan Herrmann Get Ready, Get Set... Our first combined PTSA/Hamilton Booster Club meeting of the 2010-2011 school year will take place on Wednesday, September 15th, 2010. We meet at 7:00 PM in the school library, on the second floor of the main building; there will be signs posted to help direct you. Please bring your appetites, ideas and energy!
Community Voice There is plenty to love about Hamilton High School, but just like any school there are areas that need improvement. Please consider sharing your concerns, complaints and suggestions here. We will discuss them at our meetings and share them with the principal. Rest assured, your comments will remain anonymous.
